This report presents an analysis of refugee and local community social media comments or threads shared via online social media sources.
Between January and June 2026, the InfoUnit collected 3.196 comments or threads, monitored over 72.542 posts, posted 53 informative updates covering topics like legal status, medical services, cash assistance and other issues, addressed 1.815 questions, and shared information about over 285 free events, training sessions, courses accessible to both refugee and host communities, and others.
Rumors and information spread quickly within communities and can have serious consequences. Social media monitoring helps humanitarian organizations and stakeholders track community discussions, address misinformation, and identify gaps in the humanitarian response.
In this report, the term “Refugees” refers to forcibly displaced people, primarily from Ukraine, who are seeking or receiving protection in Moldova, including beneficiaries of temporary protection, asylum-seekers, refugees, and beneficiaries of humanitarian protection.
